TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Starlux Airlines apologized and offered full refunds on Sunday (May 7) to the 308 passengers who had to spend the night at Narita Airport in Tokyo due to a flight diversion and aircraft deployment problem a day earlier.
The airline's JX800 flight to Narita was diverted to Nagoya due to heavy crosswinds on Saturday, and after finally arriving at Narita, its return flight was canceled due to bad weather.
The subsequent JX803 flight also faced issues, and the passengers were stranded at Narita due to the absence of immigration agents.
As a result of the delays, the Taoyuan-Los Angeles flight was postponed by 24 hours, impacting 152 passengers.
Although the airline's ground crew arranged for hotels and taxis, some passengers were left dissatisfied with the lack of communication from the airline regarding their next steps.
Starlux Airlines stated that it had hoped to resolve the situation but could not do so due to various factors outside its control.
