TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan Lantern Festival has brought a surge of customers to local stores in Taipei's Eastern District, with some stores reporting double or triple the usual foot traffic, according to a store manager.
The festival, which features lanterns and art pieces created by artists from Taiwan and around the world, has seen stores collaborating with artists to offer a unique combination of food and art, enticing visitors to snap pictures and enjoy the culinary offerings.
Despite the success, the festival will close on Sunday (Feb. 19), leaving visitors with one last chance to take in the sights and sounds of this annual event.
