TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Jacky Cheung (張學友), the renowned Hong Kong singer, has captivated fans at the Taipei Arena (台北小巨蛋) with his "60+" world tour, marking his third performance out of nine on Sunday (June 2). Cheung's concerts are unique not only for their varied encore songs but also for the inclusion of two songs he personally penned, highlighting their rarity and value to him.

A Blend of Talent and Personal Touch

Cheung's exceptional vocal and stage presence have been widely acknowledged. However, some fans have expressed concerns over the predominance of Cantonese songs in his setlist. Addressing this, Cheung explained, "Taiwan is the birthplace of my Mandarin songs. Many people in Taiwan came to know me through these songs. Each song's inclusion is tied to the show's production, but I promise to sing more Mandarin songs during the encore." This commitment reflects Cheung's deep connection with his Taiwanese audience.

An Encore of Surprises
Dubbed as a "blind box" by fans, the encore segment of Cheung's concerts offers a different set of songs each night, adding an element of surprise and excitement. The third night's encore included hits like "My Heart Seems Being Cut" (心如刀割), among others. A memorable moment occurred when Cheung mistakenly mixed up the lyrics to "How Could I Forget You?" (忘記你我做不到), prompting a charming request to start over, which fans found endearing.

Cheung's "60+" tour in Taipei continues to be a testament to his enduring appeal and his ability to connect with fans through his music and performances. As the tour progresses, audiences can anticipate more heartfelt performances and perhaps a few more delightful surprises from this celebrated artist.
