TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Hong Kong "God of Songs" Jacky Cheung will add three more concerts to his tour, with tickets going on sale Sunday (April 21). The additional performances will take place from Friday to Sunday (June 14-16) at the Taipei Arena, following the sell-out of the originally scheduled six shows.
The "Jacky Cheung 60+ World Tour Taipei Station" concerts, which will start on May 31, had their tickets go on sale on March 30 and quickly sold out due to high demand. In response to the popularity, the organizer Super Dome and Cheung's management decided to add three more shows.
Cheung's "60+" world tour began in Macau in June 2023 and has accumulated 117 performances to date. His previous "A Classic Tour" world tour in February 2017 also saw six sold-out shows at the Taipei Arena, with six more added in April the following year. The first round of the "Jacky Cheung 60+ World Tour Taipei Station" will consist of nine shows, setting a new personal record for Cheung.
The 62-year-old singer, who has been in the industry for 39 years, has a vast repertoire of classic songs. He has put a lot of effort into song selection, choosing different styles and eras to evoke memories among fans of different generations. In addition to his captivating singing, Cheung's interaction with the audience is a highlight of his concerts. Each encore segment promises surprises, with Cheung unlocking new songs based on his mood.
