Lai Ching-te warns of KMT
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te outlined his concerns about the opposition Kuomintang (KMT) during his second televised policy presentation on Tuesday (Dec. 26).
He emphasized three key issues: KMT's adherence to the "One-China" policy, corruption allegations, and aggressive power-seeking tactics.
Lai voiced worries that electing KMT's Hou Yu-ih, a political newcomer, might indirectly endorse the "One-China" stance and fuel what he referred to as the "Corruption Dynasty," potentially harming Taiwan's national development.
He criticized the KMT for bribery scandals, highlighting multiple instances of confirmed bribery cases under judicial rulings.
Lai also condemned the KMT for spreading fake news, distorting facts, and employing negative tactics to win elections. He expressed concerns about the KMT's alleged ties with foreign powers, particularly China, and their attempts to influence Taiwan's elections in favor of pro-China candidates.
