TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te emphasized his comprehensive national vision during a campaign event on Monday (Dec. 25). He pledged unity, safety, and cross-strait cooperation based on mutual respect if elected.
Accompanied by legislative candidate Hsu Shu-hua, Lai visited Jinan Temple in Songshan as part of her campaign.
To ensure transparency, Lai committed to combating corruption, including illegal drugs, arms dealing, fraud, and embezzlement. He also vowed to boost Taiwan's economy by supporting small and medium enterprises in high-tech industries.
Addressing education equity, Lai proposed waiving high school and vocational school fees and providing financial aid to private university students. He plans to allocate NT$35,000 per student annually to foster talent through education.
Lai also promised to implement Long-term Care 3.0, focusing on expanding long-term care facilities, promoting public care centers, and improving at-home care.
Together with his running mate, vice presidential candidate Hsiao Bi-khim, Lai is committed to caring for the people, ensuring Taiwan's security, and advancing the country's development.
