TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Alishan Forest Railways unveiled the Vivid Express on Monday (Dec. 25), a train with the nation's first transparent cockpit, celebrating its 111th anniversary.
Speaking to the media, Lin Hua-ching, director from the the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, an agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Taiwan, explained that the train is a modification of an existing model.
Inspired by the collared bush robin, indigenous to Taiwan, the train features large-pane glass windows, providing a 70-degree view of the track and the driver's seat. Additionally, it incorporates 360-degree rotating seats for an all-encompassing view.
Improvements focus on enhancing passenger comfort and views, with the transparent compartments set to be operational by April, enriching the scenic journey through Alishan's mountainous landscapes.
