TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The opposition Kuomintang (KMT) on Thursday (Dec. 21) announced plans for a public rally on Saturday night in front of Taiwan's Presidential Office Building, just before Christmas Eve.
The rally is aimed at encouraging citizens to express their dissatisfaction with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government.
Speaking in a press conference, KMT Secretary-General Justin Huang stated that this would be the first large-scale rally organized by the central committee.
He emphasized the KMT's goal of mobilizing constituents who oppose corruption and dual-standard governance to voice their grievances against the DPP and advocate for Taiwan's national security, social justice, and economic prosperity.
Huang underscored the KMT's commitment to achieving a victory in the upcoming elections and bringing peace to the people amid global uncertainties.
Seeking public support, Huang highlighted the "Hou-Jaw ticket" as the best option among the three sets of presidential and vice-presidential candidates to bring about peace in the nation.
