Hsinchu Fire Bureau calendar honors heroes, teaches safety (TVBS News)
HSINCHU (TVBS News) — The Hsinchu City Fire Bureau rolled out its 2024 Firefighting Calendar with a marketing launch event on Thursday (Dec. 7), featuring a live demonstration of fitness exercises and rescue skills by its new lineup of spokespersons for the year.
A specially selected team of 22 firefighters and volunteer firefighters served as representatives for the calendar. These local heroes were photographed at various scenic spots throughout Hsinchu City, known for their beautiful landscapes and landmarks. The calendars also incorporated valuable knowledge about disaster prevention.
This year's calendar theme showcases the courage of firefighters during emergency responses and their tireless dedication, being on call 24 hours a day.
Commissioner Lee Shi-kung highlighted the chosen representatives' impressive physiques and professional rescue capabilities and noted that the calendar aims to portray the professional image of the fire service personnel. He
Hsinchu City residents have the opportunity to participate in a disaster prevention quiz. 2,500 lucky winners will be randomly chosen from those who complete the quiz to receive a copy of the calendar, further extending the reach of the bureau's dedication to public safety and awareness.
