KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — Terry Gou, the billionaire founder of Foxconn and presidential primary hopeful for the opposition Kuomintang (KMT), held his first-ever campaign rally in Kaohsiung City on Sunday evening.
The enthusiastic crowd waved Taiwan flags and cheered as Gou made his way to the stage.
During his speech, Gou expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response from the citizens of Kaohsiung and pledged to work tirelessly to provide what the current government cannot.
He also shared a story about his previous attempt to purchase vaccines for Taiwan, noting that he was initially told "no" by government officials who said that Taiwan already had enough vaccines.
Gou spoke in Taiwanese, emphasizing his commitment to securing and maintaining peace in Taiwan.
Gou then sang Taiwan's national anthem and a well-known Taiwanese song, demonstrating his dedication and determination to secure the KMT's nomination in the presidential election and become Taiwan's new leader.
The rally ended on a high note, with the crowd cheering and waving flags as Gou left the stage.
