TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Taoyuan Metro debuted on Monday (Dec. 12) its first multilingual AI anime character to man its station and assist passengers.

Named "Fei Fei," the AI can announce ticket fares and provide information on the nearest attraction sites and weather reports.

Taoyuan Metro general manager Cheng De-fa remarked that the company has incorporated the latest technology and international elements into its system to enable easy access.

Fei Fei speaks Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean so far and detects the language(s) spoken by foreign visitors. After registering the language, the system automatically switches to answer passengers' inquiries.

At present, Fei Fei is stationed at A20 Xingnan Station to assist both local and international travelers.
