Su delivered her assessment during a high-profile Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation hearing focused on AI challenges, where she appeared alongside industry leaders including OpenAI's Sam Altman.
Speaking from her semiconductor industry expertise, Su emphasized America's current technological advantage in chip design and its dominance in producing cutting-edge AI accelerators. She pointed to China's technological constraints resulting from limited access to advanced semiconductor tools and processes.
