TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's government will inject fresh talent into its industrial backbone as the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部), the island's commerce and industry regulator, unveiled plans Friday (May 9) to hire 386 new employees across its four major state-owned enterprises. The recruitment campaign aims to address critical workforce gaps and ensure technical knowledge transfer, offering positions in 22 professional disciplines with starting monthly salaries between NT$44,000 to NT$45,000 (US$1,463 to US$1,496).
Prospective candidates will face initial examinations on Nov. 9, with the ministry emphasizing that electrical engineering positions dominate the recruitment drive. These roles offer substantial career advancement paths and salary progression opportunities. MOEA officials indicated plans for additional hiring waves throughout 2025, expanding into diverse professional fields including electrical engineering, business administration, human resources, finance, and information technology. The electrical category — with 88 open positions — will primarily support Taiwan Power Company's (台電) ongoing grid maintenance operations and ambitious carbon neutrality initiatives.
The recruitment drive also includes 79 positions in business management, 11 in human resources, and 17 in finance and accounting across the state enterprises. Performance-based compensation will begin at approximately NT$44,000 to NT$45,000 (US$1,463 to US$1,496) monthly, with high-performing employees potentially earning over NT$60,000 (US$1,995) by their fifth year of service. Comprehensive details regarding examination subjects, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and important dates will be published on the ministry's recruitment portal on July 9. ★
