TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The opposition Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) announced on Friday (March 14) that it will launch a series of 100 policy briefings across Taiwan starting March 20. The initiative aims to inform the public about the national budget and amendments to the fiscal allocation law while highlighting the ruling party's alleged disruptions.
KMT Legislator Hsu Yu-chen (許宇甄) expressed concern over the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, 民進黨) government spreading misinformation following the passage of the national budget. Hsu emphasized the importance of explaining these financial decisions to the public, along with other proposed livelihood bills for the current legislative session.
The KMT plans to hold over 100 briefings by May 20, inviting all party officials to participate. Hsu noted that the Executive Yuan will conduct eight policy briefings led by Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰), while the KMT remains committed to its own series of events, with the possibility of adding more sessions based on demand.
KMT Legislator Lo Chih-chiang (羅智強) highlighted the KMT's "return money to the people" policy, stressing the need for direct communication with citizens about these legislative measures. Another party legislator Ko Ju-chun (葛如鈞) mentioned the party's strategy to engage young, dynamic teams, including spokesperson and youth groups, to conduct two to three street talks weekly, ensuring the truth reaches every corner of Taiwan.
