TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC, 台灣高鐵公司) will add 197 train services from April 1 to 7 to accommodate travelers during the Tomb Sweeping holiday, according to an announcement on Thursday (Feb. 27). The company will offer 1,287 total services during this period, with ticket pre-sales starting March 4 at midnight.
This initiative aims to ensure smooth travel for those observing the traditional holiday. It will extend 14 train services past midnight during the transportation period, with the latest arrivals at 1 a.m. To enhance passenger service, these trains will include two cars with unreserved seating.
The company will also cater to high demand for unreserved seats, particularly from Taichung northward, by providing eight unreserved cars on trains between Nangang and Taichung during peak times.
To support early travelers visiting ancestral graves and attending large events, the company will add 57 weekend train services from March 14 to 30. This includes 30 southbound and 27 northbound services, with ticket sales also starting March 4 at midnight. The additional services reflect the company's commitment to addressing the travel needs of its passengers.
