TAIPEI (TVBS News) — AirlineRatings.com on Sunday (Jan. 12) announced its latest airline safety rankings, placing EVA Air (長榮航空) as the seventh safest airline globally. This recognition makes EVA Air the only Taiwanese airline to break into the top 10, highlighting its commitment to safety standards.
Since 2013, AirlineRatings.com has evaluated nearly 400 airlines worldwide using a unique seven-star rating system. The panel selects the safest airlines based on international aviation organization guidelines, civil aviation authority audits, and assessments of fleet operations, maintenance standards, and safety records.
EVA Air noted that it has consistently ranked among the world's top 25 safest airlines for 12 consecutive years, with this year's seventh-place ranking marking a significant achievement. Other airlines in the top 10 include Air New Zealand, Qantas, Cathay Pacific (國泰航空), and ANA.
EVA Air's President Sun Chia-ming (孫嘉明) emphasized the airline's unwavering commitment to safety, stating that since the airline's inception, it has been the long-term responsibility and mission of all their employees to safeguard flight safety.
