TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部) reported on Friday (Dec. 20) that Taiwan's export orders in November reached US$52.27 billion, marking a 3.3% annual increase but falling short of expectations. Despite this, export orders have consistently exceeded US$50 billion for five consecutive months, indicating stable demand, according to the MOEA
From January to November, cumulative export orders totaled US$536.62 billion, with a 3.7% annual growth rate, aligning with projections. The ministry forecasts December's export orders to range between US$49.5 billion and US$51.5 billion, expecting an annual growth rate of 13% to 17.5%. They anticipate the total export orders for the year to reach between US$586.1 billion and US$588.1 billion, with an annual growth rate of 4.5% to 4.8%.
The MOEA highlighted potential constraints on global economic growth due to the U.S.-China tech disputes and geopolitical tensions. However, emerging technologies like high-performance computing and artificial intelligence rapidly expand, boosting demand for Taiwan's advanced semiconductor processes and server supply chains. Additionally, the growing demand for stocking up before the Lunar New Year (農曆春節) is expected to support the momentum in export order growth.
