Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電) initially rose by NT$5 to NT$1,080 before dropping NT$10 to NT$1,065. Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (鴻海) experienced fluctuations above the NT$199 mark, while MediaTek (聯發科) hovered around NT$1,325.
After a sharp 1,000-point increase on Thursday, the Taiwan stock market saw a modest gain of 12.61 points, closing at 23,267.94 with a trading volume of NT$366.346 billion. The Commercial Times (工商時報) reported that investment trusts noted continuous upward revisions in corporate profits. They also highlighted the electronics industry's peak season starting in the fourth quarter, expecting strong supply chain momentum.
Analysts predict double-digit profit growth rates for Taiwan stock market companies this year and next, providing robust downside protection for the market. Investors will closely monitor these developments as they could signal further stability and potential growth in the coming months.
