TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Mandopop king Jay Chou (周杰倫) will hold his first concert at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) on Thursday (Dec. 5), prompting Taipei Metro (台北捷運公司) to advise fans to avoid the crowded Exit 5 of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station (國父紀念館站) after the event. A day earlier, Taipei Metro announced plans to manage the anticipated surge of concertgoers.
Taipei Metro will establish a command center at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station, assigning dedicated commanders and supervisory staff to guide crowd control. To ensure passenger and system safety, Taipei Metro will regulate the escalators at Exit 5, potentially halting operations and implementing a three-tier control system for platforms, gates, and exits.
Officials recommend fans use Exits 3 and 4 at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall station or the Taipei City Hall Station (市政府站) to disperse crowds. Train operations will align with the concert's schedule, with intervals of 3 to 3.5 minutes toward Nangang Exhibition Center (南港展覽館) and 2.5 minutes toward Dingpu (頂埔) or Taipei Main Station (台北車站). Taipei Metro may adjust train frequency or add trains based on real-time conditions.
As Jay Chou's concert draws near, Taipei Metro's strategic measures aim to ensure a smooth experience for fans. Concertgoers should plan their travel accordingly to avoid congestion and ensure a safe journey home.
