TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The "Baseball Heroes, Taiwan's Pride" (棒球英雄 台灣尚勇) parade is set to begin at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 26) and is expected to reach the Presidential Office at 3:50 p.m. President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), and Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) will welcome the delegation and acknowledge their role in showcasing Taiwan to the world.
Vice President Hsiao greeted Team Taiwan's baseball players at Taoyuan International Airport on Monday evening, on behalf of President Lai, after they clinched the WBSC Premier12 championship. During a brief remark, Hsiao expressed appreciation, stating, "I represent President Lai Ching-te to extend our heartfelt thanks, welcome, and congratulations to these heroes on behalf of all our fellow citizens."
Meanwhile, President Lai, a dedicated baseball fan, recorded a message thanking the team for their relentless effort and determination. "Thank you to all the team members for giving their all and fighting to the end," he stated.
Coach Tseng Hao-ju (曾豪駒) remarked on the enthusiastic crowd, likening the atmosphere to being inside the Taipei Dome (大巨蛋) stadium. He thanked the fans for their support and shared that they had witnessed history and created glory for Taiwan. "This glory belongs to the people of Taiwan, and we hope to share it with everyone," he said.
