TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 氣象署) reported on Tuesday (Nov. 19) that a northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and occasional rain to northern and eastern Taiwan. In addition, as the weather becomes cooler, New Taipei City's Shiding District (石碇區) recorded the lowest temperature at 16.1°C.
Meteorologist Lin Te-en (林得恩) noted that Lienchiang County's Nangan Township (南竿鄉) experienced the lowest temperature among offshore islands at 15.7°C, while Nantou County's Yushan registered the coldest temperature in the mountainous areas at 2.1°C. Lin advised residents in northern, northeastern, and eastern regions to carry rain gear due to prolonged rainfall.
Meanwhile, a weather forecasting Facebook group suggested that stronger cold air might arrive around Nov. 27, potentially marking the first continental cold front of the autumn season.
Chia Hsin-hsing (賈新興), director of Taiwan Integrated Disaster Prevention of Technology Engineering Consulting Co., indicated that cold air from the north on Nov. 26 and 27 could lower Taipei City's temperatures to 14-15°C.
The CWA emphasized the need for ongoing observation to determine if a cold front will form, urging the public to stay updated on future weather changes.
As Taiwan braces for a potential cold snap, residents should prepare for fluctuating temperatures and monitor official forecasts closely.
