TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) reported Monday (Nov. 4) that the northeast monsoon is intensifying, leading to increased rainfall in northern and eastern Taiwan. The northern coast of Keelung, Yilan, and the mountainous regions of Greater Taipei are most likely to experience heavier rain.
The central and southern regions, along with Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will see partly cloudy to sunny skies, with sporadic afternoon showers expected in the central and southern mountain areas.
Daytime temperatures will vary, with Matsu experiencing highs around 23 degrees Celsius, while northern Taiwan, Yilan, Hualien, Penghu, and Kinmen will see temperatures between 26 and 28 degrees. The central and southern regions will reach 29 to 30 degrees, with significant temperature differences between day and night.
The weather agency observed that coastal and open areas from Taoyuan to Tainan, the Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島), and outlying islands will experience strengthening winds throughout the day. Strong gusts reaching force 8 to 9 on the Beaufort scale are likely from the afternoon, with coastal wave heights rising to 2 to 3 meters.
