TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) expressed optimism on Friday (Oct. 11) about a luncheon meeting with legislative leaders, hoping for a relaxed yet visionary discussion amid a deadlock over the 2025 central government budget.
The Friday meeting, originally scheduled for last week but postponed due to a typhoon, will take place at the Dian Shui Lou (點水樓) restaurant near the Legislative Yuan later that day.
Cho, speaking to the media before attending a legislative interpellation, emphasized the budget's significance. He stated that it is not just the government's plan for next year but also crucial for citizens in areas such as education, welfare, public construction, and technological development.
Cho acknowledged President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) for his speech during the National Day ceremony, in which Lai urged swift and effective bipartisan cooperation.
Cho expressed his hopes for the luncheon, aiming for a lighthearted yet serious conversation on the nation's pressing issues and unresolved matters in the legislature.
