NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei City reported seven new local cases of dengue fever on Thursday (Sept. 25), with five cases in Xindian District (新店) and two in Zhonghe District (中和), bringing the total to 14 cases.
Health officials identified Tien Shan Park (天山公園), San Chieh Temple (三介廟), and Xingnan Night Market (興南夜市) as the primary activity areas.
To curb the outbreak, health authorities set up screening stations in Zhonghe and Xindian on Sept. 24 and will continue screenings at the "Xingnan Civic Activity Center" (興南市民活動中心) at 2 p.m. Thursday.
The Xindian District Office (新店區公所) and Zhonghe District Office (中和區公所) plan to mobilize the community on Sept. 28 to eliminate breeding grounds and inspect indoor and outdoor environments for stagnant water containers.
Authorities urge residents to participate in the cleanup to prevent further spread. The community's cooperation remains crucial in controlling the dengue fever outbreak.
