TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Chou Szu-chi (周思齊), a star player for the Brothers (中信兄弟) in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL, 中華職棒), played his final career game on Sunday (Sept. 22) at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋), concluding his 20-year professional journey.
During his retirement game, Chou played defense for the first time in over three years. He admitted it was challenging but humorously noted that no balls came his way. Reflecting on his farewell, Chou said, "I will remember the moment forever and miss you guys so much."
Chou will now serve as a special assistant to the president of the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA, 亞洲棒球總會). He acknowledged that his visits to the ballpark might become rare but promised to return and reconnect with everyone whenever possible.
Expressing gratitude, Chou thanked his younger self, who fell in love with baseball at a very young age, and mentioned Wang Guang-hui (王光輝) as his childhood idol.
