TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese singer Jody Chiang (江蕙), who retired nine years ago, confirmed on Tuesday (Aug. 27) that she will perform at the National Day concert on Oct. 5 at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋).
Chiang expressed her honor in a statement released through KHAM Inc. (寬宏藝術) a day earlier. She thanked everyone for the opportunity to sing again, and promised to bring warmth and strength through her music.
Taipei City Government's Department of Information and Tourism (台北市觀傳局) announced plans to offer free tickets for the public to attend the concert. Although details are still being finalized, they expect to release more information in late September.
Fans eagerly anticipate Chiang's return to the stage, with many curious about her feelings on the comeback. KHAM noted that Chiang feels nervous about performing publicly after so many years.
Her last performance was in 2015 at the Kaohsiung Arena (高雄巨蛋), where she announced her retirement. Songs like "Hold You Tightly" (甲你攬牢牢) and "Wife" (家後) have kept her memory alive among fans.
