TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Secretary-General Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) announced Thursday (Sept. 12) that Michelle Lee (李慧芝), an international news producer and anchor at Formosa TV (民間全民電視股份有限公司), will assume the role of Executive Yuan (行政院) spokesperson starting tomorrow.
The appointment follows the recent transition of former spokesperson Chen Shih-kai (陳世凱) to the position of transportation minister. Julia Hsieh (謝子涵), the deputy spokesperson, has temporarily filled the spokesperson vacancy.
Kung highlighted Lee's extensive experience, which includes over 15 years in various roles, such as editor and reporter at EBC News (東森新聞), reporter and anchor at CTS (中華電視公司), and producer and anchor at Formosa TV.
Lee is the daughter of Li Deng-ke (李登科), a professor in the Department of Diplomacy at National Chengchi University (NCCU, 國立政治大學). Due to her father's diplomatic assignments, she spent her childhood abroad. Lee earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from NCCU and later pursued a master's in communications at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Kung emphasized Lee's diverse background and dedication to social responsibility make her a fitting choice for the role.
