TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Paralympic team returned home on Tuesday (Sept. 10) after a successful run at the Paris Paralympics. Taoyuan International Airport Corporation welcomed the athletes with a water salute as their flight landed. The team included medalists who showcased remarkable performances on the international stage.
Among the athletes, table tennis player Tian Shiau-wen (田曉雯) won a bronze medal in the women's singles TT10 class and a silver in the women's doubles WD20 class with partner Lin Tzu-yu (林姿妤). Para table tennis star Cheng Ming-chih (程銘志) secured a silver medal in the men's singles TT5 class while rising star Chen Po-yen (陳柏諺) also claimed a silver in the men's singles TT11 class.
Over 70 individuals, including athletes, coaches, and support staff, returned to Taiwan. The Sports Administration provided this information, highlighting the team's achievements and the collective effort behind their success.
Deputy Minister of Education Chang Liao Wan-chien (張廖萬堅) and Director-General of the Sports Administration Cheng Shih-chung (鄭世忠) greeted the team at the gate.
