TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The "National Day Preparation Committee" (國慶籌備委員會) revealed the 2024 National Day main visual on Tuesday (Sept. 3). The design features a Double Ten logo with blue and red colors of the national flag, a plum blossom in the center, and the phrase "Happy Birthday Republic of China" below, integrating Taiwan elements in English.
At noon, the committee's Facebook page updated its profile and cover photos, showcasing the new visual. The English slogan reads, "A Beautiful Taiwan Today, A Better Taiwan Tomorrow." Unlike the previous two years, this year's design notably omits the term "Taiwan National Day."
The committee, traditionally chaired by the legislative speaker and with the minister of the interior as the secretary-general, now has Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) as the chair and Vice Minister of the Interior Wu Tang-an (吳堂安) as the secretary-general.
The Kuomintang (KMT) had previously criticized the National Day visuals during the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) governance. After the KMT won the majority in the 2024 legislative elections, ending eight years of DPP dominance, the public has paid significant attention to how they will organize the National Day celebrations.
