Hsieh, 38, boasts seven Grand Slam doubles titles and has partnered with the 20-year-old Tsao for their third match together. Hsieh acknowledged the challenges of the first match but expressed optimism about their progress. Hsieh's familiarity with the Stade Roland-Garros, located less than a 10-minute bike ride from her Paris home, contributed to her comfort. "Although this is an Olympic event, I know the courses here so well that I don't feel any different," she remarked, describing the experience as akin to "a stroll in her backyard."
Tsao expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete in the Olympics, attributing it to Hsieh, reflecting on their successful debut match, CNA reported.
