PARIS (TVBS News) — Taiwan's women's doubles team, sister-duo, Chan Yung-jan (詹詠然) and Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴) will battle Tokyo 2020 gold medalists Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova as they gear up for their first Olympic Games Paris 2024 matches on Saturday (July 27).
Chan Yung-jan, 34, will step onto the Olympic stage for the fourth time, with her sister, Chan Hao-ching. The duo's best Olympic performance to date has been reaching the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Tennis star Hsieh Su-wei (謝淑薇) and her partner, Tsao Chia-yi (曹家宜), will face Romanian pair Irina-Camelia Begu and Monica Niculescu in their opening match. On July 24, Hsieh and Tsao clinched a quarterfinal victory at the WTA Prague Open, advancing to the semifinals, but decided to withdraw to prepare for the Olympics.
The Olympic tennis schedule kicks off on July 27 at Stade Roland-Garros, the central court of the French Open.
