TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Legislators concluded the 11th session of the Legislative Yuan on Tuesday (July 16), with Democratic Progressive Party (DDP) legislator Huang Jie (黃捷) emerging as a key figure. Huang led 22 proposals, co-sponsored ten others, and questioned government officials 36 times.
Huang's proposals focused on sovereignty, gender rights, ethnic and transitional justice, environmental conservation, generational justice, public safety, and labor rights. Her active participation often made her a focal point in the legislature.
A notable incident involved a clash with Kuomintang (KMT) legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin (徐巧芯) over a microphone. Also, Huang entered the Internal Administration Committee at dawn to block the "Civil Servants Election And Recall Act" (公職人員選舉罷免法), prompting Legislative Yuan Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) to call for an investigation.
