TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Chinese Taipei team's uniform for the upcoming Paris Olympics was revealed on Friday (April 19) during a press conference preceding Taipei Fashion Week.

Designed by Taiwanese designer Justin Chou, the uniform features sustainable materials and artistic craftsmanship, showcasing the collaborative efforts of artists and textile manufacturers across Taiwan.

Justin Chou, confident in his creation, stated, "This design will definitely not lose to France," highlighting the competitive spirit and national pride embodied in the uniforms.

The design integrates contributions from artist Paul Chiang, text artist Lin Kuo-ching, indigenous national treasure craftsman Yen Yu-ying, and hand-twined flower craftsman Lin Pei-ying.

The uniforms were produced with support from Taiwanese textile companies New Wide Group, Grand Yi Design, and Junmay Label, all noted for their sustainability practices. Olympic sport shooter Yang Kun-pi and boxer Wu Shih-yi, who first modeled the uniforms, praised their comfort and the thoughtful design.

Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee President Lin Hong-dow emphasized the significance of the uniforms in representing Taiwan at the Olympics. Cheng Shih-chung, Sports Administration Director, echoed this sentiment, noting the international acclaim for Chou's previous designs at the Tokyo Olympics and their role in enhancing Taiwan's global image.
