TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A power outage occurred in Taipei's Eastern District on Thursday evening (April 18), with Taipower estimating that power would not be restored until 12:30 a.m. on Friday (April 19).
In response to the outage, Taipower stated that the cause was a tripped automated switch circuit breaker, with the exact reason still under investigation.
The affected areas included the Daan District, from Fuxing South Road Section 1 to Dunhua South Road Section 1, impacting approximately 722 households.
During the blackout, several yakitori restaurants and bistros were plunged into darkness in the middle of dinner service, leaving many customers waiting on the street.
