SEOUL (TVBS News) — Taitung's City Government representatives traveled to Seoul on March 27 to showcase the region's unique charm and cultural offerings. This initiative seeks to draw attention from travel service providers and boost tourism cooperation between Taiwan and South Korea.
Tourism Administration data shows that in 2023, more than 700,000 Korean tourists visited Taiwan, making Korea the third-largest source of tourists. In light of this trend, the Taitung County Government is intensifying efforts to market Taiwan's attractions to the South Korean audience.
Hung Kuo-chin, deputy director of Transportation and Tourism Development in Taitung, emphasized the region's promotional strategies. "Since last year, the Taitung County Government has allocated a significant portion of its promotional resources to South Korea, collaborating with YouTubers and Instagrammers," he said.
The government's efforts have led to a series that showcases Taitung's beauty, attracting South Korean influencers to promote the region's attractions.
Taitung is known for its diverse attractions, including the Taiwan International Balloon Festival and the Taiwan Open of Surfing. Introducing unique café shops in Taimali and fresh local fruits further boosts its appeal to international visitors.
These efforts aim to present Taitung's natural beauty and cultural heritage globally, enticing audiences worldwide and encouraging more tourism exchanges between Taiwan and South Korea.
