TAITUNG (TVBS News) — In a strategic move to invigorate international tourism, the Taitung County Government of Taiwan has unveiled the "Taitung Long Stay" initiative. This campaign, set in motion in partnership with local and international travel agencies, aims to spotlight Taitung in Malaysia and Singapore.
Cultural Showcase and Hospitality
The event celebrated Taitung's rich cultural tapestry and displayed various local agricultural products and souvenirs, ensuring that every visitor took a piece of Taitung home with them.
Moreover, the event took a thoughtful approach to accommodate Malaysian tourists by introducing Halal-certified venues and restaurants, showcasing Taitung's commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
Taitung County Magistrate Yao Ching-ling voiced optimism about the initiative, stating, "We hope to introduce Taitung to everyone as soon as possible, so we have prepared two special offers. We will provide an atemoya gift box to the first 100 visitors." This gesture underlines the region's readiness to welcome tourists with open arms and unique local flavors.
Singapore's travel agencies said Taitung is a travel destination Singaporeans really enjoy for its tranquil lifestyle and pristine natural beauty. There is a palpable sense of anticipation, as they are committed to promoting travel to Taitung this year, hoping to reach the goal of 1,000 Singaporean visitors by the end of the third quarter.
