TAIPEI (TVBS News) — James Soong, chairman of the People First Party (PFP), announced his goal of reentering the Legislative Yuan in the upcoming elections.
Soong hopes to secure 3 to 4 legislative seats to establish a parliamentary group within the legislative body.
Many presidential candidates have approached the senior politician in light of the 2024 presidential election, but he has not publicly endorsed any candidate.
During the launch of his new book, "Good Practice in Public Affairs" (公門好修行), Soong emphasized the importance of prioritizing the administration of the state and empowering people as decision-makers.
He also stressed the need to peacefully resolve cross-strait relationships within the parliament and address public welfare issues.
Soong outlined that the PFP aims to foster constructive dialogue with China and build peace proposals across the strait.
