TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Vice presidential candidate Lai Pei-hsia urged Foxconn founder Terry Gou on Thursday (Sept. 14) to leverage his business experience to attract and retain more Taiwanese business people for Taiwan.
Earlier that day, Gou invited the veteran actress to partner with him in the 2024 Presidential Election. Despite Gou's low approval ratings, Lai agreed to join him following the invitation.
Lai urged Gou to initiate dialogues with his past business competitors, stressing the need to invite successful Taiwanese business people from overseas to invest in Taiwan, asserting that this would establish a robust foundation for the youth.
"Cross-strait peace, a flourishing economy, global vision, and absolute integrity are all Terry's beliefs and what he will strive for. As a vice-presidential candidate, my mission is to help him achieve his dream of 'uniting the opposition camps,'" Lai expressed assertively.
Ending on an emotional note, Lai emphasized that the election season is temporary and should not be a reason to damage interpersonal relationships.
Lai reiterated the most beautiful thing about Taiwan is its 'human touch' and claimed that continuous collective efforts could build a better Taiwan.
