TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Stranded passengers in Okinawa due to the recent Typhoon Kahnun finally returned to Taiwan on Thursday (Aug. 3), thanks to Eva Air.

The airline dispatched a Boeing 777, which can carry up to 333 passengers, to transport the travelers affected by the typhoon. Reports indicate that the flight was almost full.

Typhoon Kahnun caused severe damage in the area, with strong winds and heavy rain causing casualties and power outages.

The storm led to the closure of Naha Airport for two days, leaving many travelers with limited meal options and struggling to find accommodation.

Some passengers even opted to pay extra to upgrade to business class to secure a prompt return flight, as the next available seats were not expected until Aug. 8.
