TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Former NBA star Dwight Howard said goodbye to his fans in tears before heading back to the United States at Taoyuan International Airport Tuesday night (May 30).
It was an emotional evening at the airport. Tears and sadness filled the air, with nearly one hundred fans coming to bid Howard goodbye.
Howard gifted signed sneakers and jerseys, took pictures with fans, and hugged them as he moved toward the security checkpoint.
"We had an amazing time here. Thank you to everyone. We're so sad that we gotta go home. We love you guys so much. You guys are so special. So, thank you." Howard said.
Howard played basketball in Taiwan for the Taoyuan Leopards in the 2022-2023 season, bringing Taiwan's basketball scene to another level. And it is still uncertain if Howard will be back in Taiwan for the next season.
