TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Students from the Fashion Design Department at Shih Chien University garnered commendation from their instructors for their exceptional display in the 2023 runway shows held on April 28-29 (Fri.-Sat.), showcasing a plethora of remarkable designs.
Milton Hsieh, Ph.D., chairman of Shih Chien University, lauded the students for their boundless creativity. Hsieh recently celebrated his 90th birthday and was excited about participating in the school's annual fashion extravaganza.
Established in 1958 by Hsieh's father, Hsieh Tung-min, a dedicated government official, the educational institution has made significant strides in providing quality education for future generations of Taiwan.
Shih Chien University, renowned as one of Taiwan's and the world's leading institutions in the art & design field, was ranked seventh for internationalization in the 2018 Taiwan University ranking by Global Views.
The Ready-to-Wear and Avant-Garde Runway Shows featured collections from 60 designers, exploring themes such as the pervasive influence of social media and the essence of freedom and travel.
On the second day of the prestigious runway shows, the organizers welcomed Surco Makino, a renowned sneaker designer from Louis Vuitton, who also commended the students for their remarkable achievements.
Makino expressed his awe and thanked the students for bringing him here "to be a part of this amazing party. Thank you very much."
