TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tung Cheng, a Taiwanese student designer, showcased his collection of jackets, dresses, and formal costumes at the Shih Chien fashion show on Friday (April 28).

What made Tung Cheng's collection stand out was his focus on highlighting his Paiwan roots through traditional yet modern designs. He incorporated shades of gray and black into his pieces, giving them a contemporary feel that envisions a future, high-tech society.

As Tung Cheng explained, his creative process involved frequently returning to his tribe to draw inspiration from Paiwan patterns and culture.

He sought to combine these elements with fashion, creating a unique and stunning collection. The designer expressed great pride in his heritage, stating that most of his inspiration came from his Paiwan roots.

Tung Cheng's collection serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural heritage through creative expression.

By incorporating his Paiwan roots into his designs, he showcases the beauty and richness of the indigenous culture and helps keep it alive and relevant in the modern world.

The success of Tung Cheng's collection at the Shih Chien fashion show is a testament to the power of combining tradition with modernity to create something exceptional.
