TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — A fatal accident occurred at the Taichung Mass Rapid Transit (TMRT) when a crane fell from a nearby construction site and struck a passing carriage, resulting in eight injuries and one reported death.
The incident unfolded at approximately 12:27 p.m. on Wednesday (May 10) when the crane boom suddenly collapsed onto the Feng-le Park station area where the MRT train was passing.
According to the TMRT staff, passengers were quickly evacuated from the station in response to the accident. The TMRT officials have since announced that they are in the process of collecting further information regarding the incident.
