TAIPEI (TVBS NEWS) — The "Bamboo Union," a notorious Taiwanese gang, marked the arrival of spring with opulent fanfare at the Marriott Hotel Taipei on Monday (March 6).
More than one hundred elegantly dressed young women in qipaos (Cheongsam) were recruited by the gang's local branch to welcome guests to the lavish banquet warmly.
The authorities, in turn, dispatched a large contingent of over one hundred officers to scrutinize the event.
However, due to the hotel's regulations, the police were prohibited from entering the premises.
They were restricted at the hotel entrance to verify the guests' identity.
Earlier, another branch of the Bamboo Union had also hosted a spring banquet at the same hotel, with reports indicating that three additional chapters have similar plans in the coming weeks.
