TAIPEI (TVBS NEWS) — The mayor of Kaohsiung City, Chen Chi-mai, attended the opening of the highly anticipated FOODEX JAPAN 2023 event on Tuesday (March 7) to champion Taiwanese produce.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic over the last three years, Taiwan finally participated again in the FOODEX JAPAN, which is named one of the world's top three food exhibitions.
During his visit, Chen focused on promoting the jujube and expressed gratitude to Japan for its unwavering support of Taiwanese fruits.
Japan remains a significant market for Taiwanese produce, with thousands of containers exported annually.
The exhibition is currently underway at Tokyo's Central Wholesale Market, with 136 Taiwanese food companies represented at the Taiwan pavilion, showcasing their products to a global audience.
The exhibition runs until March 10, providing a prime opportunity for Taiwanese food companies to network and secure new business deals.
