TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Andrew Yang, co-chair of the Forward Party in the U.S., gave a speech on "What went wrong with Democracy in American" in Taipei on Dec. 29.
Speaking upon the current U.S., Taiwan, China relationships, Yang said: "I think everyone's goal is the same, to avoid that scenario. It would be really disasterous for everyone involved if tensions reach that level, so hopefully reason and peace will prevail."
Yang added, " I was always brought up with a sense that the U.S. and Taiwan had a very special relationship, and there are very serious commitments on the U.S. side."
Yang was the first candidate of Taiwanese descent to run for U.S. President in 2020.
