KMT’s Chao blasts DPP for ‘chaos‘ in Taiwan‘s governance (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) vice presidential candidate Chao Shao-kang criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for their control over Taiwan's governance, alleging it has led to chaos in the nation.
President Tsai Ing-wen had warned that a KMT presidential win and Legislative Yuan majority would eliminate checks and balances, leaving Taiwan "hollowed out."
Chao, speaking at the opening of the New Taipei legislative campaign headquarters, cited a financial deficit, cross-strait tensions, and the loss of diplomatic allies during the DPP's eight-year governance. He also pointed to a 19-month decline in export markets, wealth inequality, and housing issues.
He attributed these issues to the DPP's dominance in power, arguing that local governments focus on unrelated infrastructure projects.
