TAIPEI (TVBS News) — With the 2024 presidential election just over a month away and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je facing declining poll numbers, TPP campaign chief Vivian Huang offered a strategy shift on Friday (Dec. 8).

Huang suggested that they should "ignore the traditional media's daily negative comments" to improve their position.

Ko's support has significantly dropped, leading veteran media figure Huang Wei-han to advise the TPP candidate to stop attributing the decline to institutional effects, fake news, or media blackouts and instead acknowledge the deficit in the race.

Former legislator Shen Fu-hsiung even predicted that Ko might receive as low as 12% of the vote in the 2024 election, with the TPP potentially securing only six seats in the Legislative Yuan.

Contrary to the negative outlook, Vivian Huang highlighted that internal TPP polling indicated their support hovering around 20%. To catch up with competitors, she recommended shifting focus away from negative press and traditional media poll results and, instead, concentrating efforts on promoting and implementing the party's policies.
