TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A well-known French YouTuber, Richard Quentin, nicknamed Ku, obtained permanent residency in Taiwan earlier this month, after having lived in the country for over five years.

Ku, celebrated for his enthusiasm for Taiwanese cuisine and culture, operates the popular YouTube channel "Ku's dream" (酷的夢), which features a strong Taiwanese influence and boasts more than 1.61 million subscribers.

According to the National Immigration Agency's regulations, individuals who have stayed in Taiwan for more than 183 days annually over the past five years qualify for permanent residency.

"Taiwan gives me a sense of belonging, and obtaining permanent residency is a validation of that," Ku shared. He also highlighted Taiwan's convenience and efficiency, emphasizing that the environment is exceptionally conducive for creative growth.

With his newly acquired permanent residency, Ku feels a deeper connection to Taiwan. He plans to continue his work in promoting the country, aiming to enhance the confidence and sense of identity among Taiwanese nationals.
