CHANGHUA(TVBS News) — Beautiful kites of various shapes and sizes soared high in Lukang's sky on Wednesday (Oct. 25) in preparation for the upcoming Lukang Kite Festival.
Scheduled for Nov. 5, the Lukang Kite Festival promises a spectacular show in the skies above Lukang Stadium.
This year's theme is centered around the ocean, featuring a diverse range of large kites shaped like cuttlefish, whale sharks, octopuses, and penguins.
Professional kite players from the Asian Kite Forum will grace the festival with their exceptional skills, adding to the visual extravaganza.
The Lukang Kite Festival aims to showcase not only the dazzling kite patterns but also Lukang's abundant marine resources, which include a wide variety of fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and aquaculture.
Lukang Town Mayor Hsu Chih-hung particularly highlighted the festival's goal of introducing Lukang Town's karasumi (salted mullet roe pouch) industry.
By fusing local culture with the art of kite flying, the Lukang Kite Festival is set to offer tourists an unforgettable experience.
